New WCHA Classes at 2018 Lucas Oil World

Two WCHA conformation classes have been added to the 2018 Lucas Oil World in Oklahoma City.

The American Quarter Horse Association has partnered with the World Conformation Horse Association to add WCHA world champion junior weanling colts and junior weanling fillies to the 2018 Lucas Oil AQHA World Championship Show schedule.

WCHA World Champion Junior Weanling Classes Entry Form

Exhibitors will have the opportunity to compete for $5,000 added money in each class. The payback will include the $5,000 added money, plus 100 percent of the entry fee, minus the office fee.

The WCHA world champion junior weanling colts class, sponsored by KR Hes Exceptional – Kull Ranch, is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. on November 15 in the Jim Norick Arena. The WCHA world champion junior weanling fillies class, sponsored by Valentino – June Rhea and Kathy Smallwood, is slated for 7 a.m. on November 16 in the Jim Norick Arena.

Horse eligibility for WCHA classes at Lucas Oil World
Any American Quarter Horse weanling, sired by a stallion that is nominated into the WCHA Futurity Program, is eligible to compete. For purposes of the WCHA classes, junior horse is defined as those horses foaled March 1 and later. The WCHA world champion weanling colts class is open to stallions and geldings. Horses will enter and be lined up according to birthdates.

Limited open, amateur or youth are eligible to compete. Limited status for these classes is anyone who has not won an AQHA world or AQHA reserve world title in the past five years in halter competition. (Select or youth titles or titles in other breed associations are exempt from this rule.) Owner and exhibitor must also be members of WCHA.

WCHA Class Entry Fees

  • By September 1, 2018 - $200
  • By October 1, 2018 - $300
  • By November 1, 2018 - $400 (No entries will be accepted after November 1, 2018)
  • Office fee - $30
  • WCHA Membership Fees – Open - $50, Non-Pro - $40 and Youth - $25
