Events that cross over the end qualifying date -- Keep in mind AQHA-approved events which end prior to or on April 30, 2017 will count towards the 2017 Ford Youth World. If an event crosses over the end qualifying date and has a show end date of May 1, 2017 (or later) - that show's points will count towards the 2018 Ford Youth World. For example: A show's dates are recorded with AQHA as April 29-30, 2017, the points will count towards the 2017 show; however, if the dates are recorded as April 30 - May 1, 2017 (or later) the points will count towards the 2018 show.
Any horse to be shown in performance halter at the 2017 Ford Youth World (whether the horse be a national or state entry) must have earned a performance ROM during the qualifying period (May 1, 2016 thru April 30, 2017), or if earned prior to the qualifying period, must have earned at least ten riding points during the qualifying period. These points can be in open, amateur or youth classes and they can add up to make the ten points, but ABSOLUTELY NO horse can compete in a performance halter class without having earned the performance ROM or the ten riding points during the qualifying period. Remember that showmanship points DO NOT count, nor do Level 1 amateur or youth points or points earned at Introductory shows. However, Level 1 (Green) points earned in the Open Division will count.
Adequan® Level 2 Championship Classes
Adequan® Level 2 classes will be offered at the 2017 Built Ford Tough AQHYA World Championship Show, giving exhibitors the chance to win Adequan® Level 2 championship titles. Adequan® Level 2 classes will be offered in a one-go-round format. Awards for Adequan® Level 2 will be awarded after each preliminary. The top-10 placings and five finalists will be awarded in each Adequan® Level 2 class. AQHA will also award the top three 13-&-Under exhibitors in both the Adequan® Level 2 and Level 3 classes.
- Scored classes: Level 3 and Level 2 scored classes will run concurrent with the preliminary Level 3 (world championship) class.
- Halter classes: Level 3 and Level 2 halter classes will run concurrent with the finals Level 3 (world championship) class.
- Rail/placed classes: Level 2 rail/placed classes will be held as a one-go separate class.
View more details about the breakdown of Adequan® Level 2 classes.
To enter an Adequan® Level 2 Championships class, the Adequan® Level 2 exhibitor/horse must earn half of the Level 3 qualifying points and must be Adequan® Level 2-eligible as of January 1, 2017. Horses/exhibitors eligible for Adequan® Level 2 and Level 3 will be able to enter both levels. A separate entry fee for the Adequan® Level 2 Championships will be applied.
