Traveling Discovery Box
Traveling Discovery Box
Discover the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum in your classroom, courtesy of a field trip in a box.
Imagine your students’ touching artifacts from our museum, learning about their history and labeling an item as if it were on display at a museum–a learning experience that could shape their career or next museum experience. The American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum now offers a new Traveling Discovery Box program–a field trip in a box that comes straight to your school. This program has been fully evaluated and is fun and educational while meeting curriculum standards.
If you are not a horse person, no worries! The Traveling Discovery Box captures other skills that build character values for your students. We provide boxes geared toward three grade ranges: kindergarten and first grade, second through ninth.
This program features opportunities for students to:
Handle real artifacts and high-quality replicas.
Develop thinking skills and core values: problem solving, curiosity, observation, empathy, responsibility, character, respect, teamwork.
Acquire new knowledge, understanding and skills.
Enjoy, become inspired and creative.
Create positive perceptions of and attitudes towards museums.
Participate actively as citizens while developing social skills outside of the school environment.
