Hezgothelook Z, a gelded son of Favorite Cartel owned by Triple One Ranch and trained by Toby Keeton, will continue his quest for the All American Triple Crown in this week's All American Futurity (G1) trials, which will be run at Albuquerque Downs for the first time in their 66-year history.

A total of 264 juveniles are entered in this year's 440-yard trials, which will be contested Friday and Saturday. Post time for the first trial each day is set for 12 p.m. (MDT), with the last heat each day scheduled to go off at 5:25. The five fastest qualifiers from each day's trials will meet in the $3-million All American Futurity final at Albuquerque Downs on Labor Day, September 2.

Hezgothelook Z won all four of his races at Ruidoso Downs, including the 350-yard, $1-million Ruidoso Futurity (G1) on June 9, and the 400-yard, $1-million Rainbow Futurity (G1) on July 14. A $70,000 buy at last year's Heritage Place Yearling Sale in Oklahoma City, the gelding has earned $852,300 from five starts.

Should Hezgothelook Z win the All American Futurity final, he would be the first All American Triple Crown winner since world champion Special Effort accomplished the feat in 1981. However, he would be the first horse to win the Triple Crown at two different tracks.

Hezgothelook Z drew the rail post and will be ridden by Bryan Candanosa in the third of Friday's 14 trials. The gelding's eight opponents in this heat include La Feliz Montana Ranch's FDD Dreams, a homebred son of FDD Dynasty who ran second, 1 1/4 lengths behind Hezgothelook Z, as the fastest overall qualifier in the Rainbow Futurity. Xavier Rodriguez trains the bay gelding.

FDD Dreams drew post 2 and will be ridden by Luis Martinez.

Other prominent 2-year-olds entered in Friday's heats include Aguila Rapida, a homebred multiple Grade 1-placed son of champion Tempting Dash trained by Toby Keeton for owner Simmons Racing. The sorrel gelding won two of his four starts at Ruidoso Downs and ran second, three-quarters of a length behind Hezgothelook Z, in the Ruidoso Futurity, and third, 1 1/2 lengths behind that rival, in the Rainbow Futurity.

Aguila Rapida drew post 7 and will be ridden by Bryan Candanosa in Friday's first trial.

Saturday's 14 trials are headed by graded stakes winners Kempton and Painted Eclispe, both of whom drew into the day's 10th heat. Trained by James Gonzales II for owner Ozaca Ranch LLC, Kempton is coming off of a Remington Park spring campaign during which he earned $468,986 from three races and scored a wire-to-wire, 1 1/4-length victory in Oklahoma's richest horse race, the 350-yard, $1.082-million Heritage Place Futurity (G1) on June 1.

Kempton drew post 9 and will be ridden by James Flores.

Painted Eclispe races for Shaun Hubbard, La Feliz Montana Ranch and Ray Willis from the barn of trainer Xavier Rodriguez. A $32,000 buy at last year's Heritage Place Yearling Sale, the gelded son of Pyc Paint Your Wagon began his career with two wins at Sunland Park, including the 300-yard, $312,000 West Texas Futurity (G2) on April 6.

Painted Eclispe drew post 4 and will be ridden by Luis Martinez.
