In recent years, consignors have been invited to order additional barrel and performance horse research for both the Heritage Place Fall and Winter Mixed catalogs. New this year is enhanced information regarding barrel horse performance information. In the case of sale horses with a full page of existing race information that could be considered compromised when some information is replaced with barrel horse research, a second page has been added with complete barrel horse research, and a QR Code links to that secondary page. The QR Code will behave normally when scanned by a smartphone in the printed book; clicking on the QR Code in the online catalog will lead to the secondary page; and tapping on the QR Code when viewing the catalog on the QData Catalog App will take a viewer to the barrel research.

For horses that are clearly performance-bred with no appreciable racing research, the performance research page has been made the primary page.

Also new in 2023, AQHA’s Official Barrel Black Type System, which combines the performance and race black type systems, is used and noted on the pages with barrel research.
