Thirteen 400-yard Dash For Cash Futurity (G2) trials will be contested Saturday at Lone Star Park.

Post time for the first trial is set for 6:05 p.m. CDT. The final heat is scheduled to go off at 11:29.

A total of 126 2-year-olds are entered, led by multiple graded stakes winners Joose Boxx and DK Marney Jess. A gray son of Kiss My Hocks trained by Juan Diaz Jr. for owner Javier de los Santos Muzquiz, Joose Boxx has earned $555,728 from six races in Oklahoma and Texas, and his four wins include a three-quarter length victory in the 300-yard, $502,000 Oklahoma Futurity (G2) in March, and a 1 1/2-length win in the 350-yard, $606,000 TQHA Sale Futurity (RG1) at Retama Park on July 27.

Joose Boxx drew the rail post and will be ridden by Nestor Duran in the fifth trial.

DK Marney Jess is trained by Diaz for owner CH Horse Racing LLC. A bay daughter of world champion Apollitical Jess, the filly has won all five of his races and has banked $448,150, and her resume includes victories in the 300-yard, $392,000 Louisiana Downs Futurity (G2) in March, and the 330-yard, $622,000 Sam Houston Futurity (G2) in June.

DK Marney Jess drew post 8 and will be ridden by Nestor Duran in the seventh heat.

CH Horse Racing and trainer Diaz will also be represented by Machiavelli, a graded stakes winning son of champion Tempting Dash and a $51,000 purchase at last year’s Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale. Machiavelli will be stretching out in distance off of his three-quarter length victory in the 350-yard, $205,000 TQHA Sires’ Cup Futurity (RG2) at Retama Park on August 17.

Machiavelli drew post 5 and will be ridden by Nestor Duran in the sixth trial.

The 10 fastest qualifiers from Saturday’s trials will meet in the $450,000-est. Dash For Cash Futurity final on October 5.
