Anna Belle, a daughter of 2019 champion 2-year-old Uncle D racing for Tom Smith and Lou Ann Smith, is the fastest qualifier to the August 17, $72,182 John Deere Prairie Meadows Juvenile Challenge Stakes.
One of six finalists qualified by trainer Jason Olmstead, Anna Belle on Monday won the second of three 350-yard trials by three-quarters of a length in :17.617. Ramiro Garcia rode the filly.
Anna Belle was bred in Oklahoma by Bollenbach Farms, and she was a $22,000 purchase by the Smiths at last year's Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale. Raced in two states, including Oklahoma, the filly has won three of six starts -- including the May 25 FL Lady Bug Stakes (RG3) for Oklahoma-breds at Remington Park -- and she has banked $83,311.
