Sheza Bye Bye, a stakes-winning daughter of Hezadashinbye racing for Israel Flores, is one of a dozen state-bred sophomores entered in Saturday's LQHBA Breeders' Derby (RG3) trials at Evangeline Downs.

The 10 fastest qualifiers from the two 400-yard heats will meet in the December 21, $100,000-added final.

Sheza Bye Bye will be making her first official start since July 14, when the filly scored a half-length victory as the favorite in the 400-yard, $140,000 Delta Downs Oaks (R) for Louisiana-bred 3-year-old fillies. Leonel Hernandez trains the homebred filly.

Sheza Bye Bye drew post 4 and will be ridden by Eleazar Hernandez in the second trial.

Douglas O. Traylor's The Knockout Power returns to competition against state-breds off of his fourth-place finish, a neck behind dead heat winners Asscher and Relentless Eagle, in the October 5, 440-yard Dash For Cash Derby (G2) at Lone Star Park. A $40,000 purchase at the 2022 LQHBA Yearling Sale, the gray Power Jam (TB) gelding is trained by David Bustamante.

The Knockout Power drew post 3 and will be ridden by Leonardo Rodriguez in the first heat.
