Blues Train Too, a sorrel daughter of Freighttrain B owned by Carniceria Prime Meat Market Racing and the fastest qualifier, is one of 10 state-bred 2-year-olds entered back in Saturday’s 350-yard, $550,714 Louisiana QHBA Sale Futurity (RG1) at Fair Grounds Racecourse.

Blues Train Too broke her maiden with a one-length victory in the fifth of 10 trials on August 24. A $25,000 purchase at last year’s LQHBA Yearling Sale, the filly is trained by Juan Cano.

Blues Train Too drew post 5 and will be ridden by Luis F. Ruiz.

Other contenders include Cartel Gone Wild, a gelded son of The Louisiana Cartel trained by Juan Diaz Jr. for owners Luis Armando Castellanos and Alfonso Rangel. Cartel Gone Wild is coming off of a three-quarter length victory in his trial, and he was a finalist in the May 25, $292,000 Louisiana Breeders’ Laddie Futurity (RG2) for state-bred colts and geldings at Delta Downs.

Cartel Gone Wild drew post 9 and will be ridden by Victor Urieta Jr.

The LQHBA Sale Futurity will be the richest Quarter Horse race ever run at Fair Grounds Racecourse.
