Cyber Star, a daughter of the Favorite Cartel stallion Cyber Monday trained by Dee Keener for owner Kelly Yother Equine of Culver City, California, posted the fastest winning time from nine Quarter Horse training races Monday at Remington Park.
Ridden by Roman Cruz and racing against a 9-mph head wind, Cyber Star covered 250 yards in :13.746, and his margin of victory was a head from First Cash Boy. Cyber Star is out of the winning homebred Mr Jess Perry mare Goddess Artemis. Her second dam, the winning and stakes-placed Chicks Beduino mare Sky Chicks, was a finalist in Evening Snow's 1995 Los Alamitos Million Futurity (G1) and Western Heart's '96 Southern California Derby (G1).
Keener has been the leading trainer at Remington Park's spring meet the last two seasons, as the resident of Inola, Oklahoma, sent out the winners of 37 races in 2023 and '24. Cruz topped all Remington Park jockeys last season with 43 wins.
