Champion Teller Cartel has died at age 22, according to his owner Haras Portofino in Brazil.

The bay stallion was a son of Corona Cartel and out of the Easy Jet mare Jet Along Jamie. 

Racing exclusively at age 2, he won three of nine starts with two seconds and three thirds and earned $1,212,471. He won the All American Futurity (G1), was third in the Golden State Million Futurity (G1) and a finalist in the Los Alamitos Million Futurity (G1). He was named champion 2-year-old colt.

As a sire, Teller Cartel sired the earners of more than $11.9 million, according to Equineline records, led by Llano Teller ($1,770,007). Sold to Haras Portofino in 2016, he was also a leading sire in Brazil.
