Year-End High-Point Awards

Annually, AQHA recognizes the top point earners in each division of every AQHA-approved event. Horses are recognized in the open division, while youth and amateurs with any one horse are recognized in their respective division.

The year-end awards are awarded according to AQHA's leveling program. Awards are recognized in each event for open, amateur and youth divisions.

  • Rookie level high-point earners will be recognized, in each event. The top-10 exhibitors and top-10 horses will receive a certificate of accomplishment along with the opportunity to purchase an official AQHA Top-10 Year-End award.
  • Level 1 high-point earners will be recognized, in each event. The top-10 earners will receive a certificate of accomplishment along with the opportunity to purchase an official AQHA Top-10 Year-End award.
  • Adequan® Level 2 high-point earners who have earned points in Level 2 classes will be recognized, in each event. The points must have been earned in Level 2 classes. The top-10 earners will receive a certificate of accomplishment along with the opportunity to purchase an official AQHA Top-10 Year-End award.
  • Level 3 high-point earners who have earned points in Level 3 classes will be recognized, in each event. The points must have been earned in Level 3 classes. Points earned in Level 2 are not included in the point counts. First-place winners will receive a certificate of accomplishment, AQHA year-end high-point trophy and personalized award buckle. Second through 10th will receive a certificate of accomplishment along with the opportunity to purchase an official AQHA Top-10 Year-End award.
  • Open junior and senior high-point horses will be recognized, in each event. The top-10 earners will receive a certificate of accomplishment along with the opportunity to purchase an official AQHA Top-10 Year-End award.
  • Open high-point stallion/mare/gelding will be recognized, in each event. The top-10 horses will receive a certificate of accomplishment along with the opportunity to purchase an official AQHA Top-10 Year-End award.
  • Select amateur exhibitors will be recognized, in each amateur event. The top-10 earners will receive a certificate of accomplishment along with the opportunity to purchase an official AQHA Top-10 Year-End award.

Year-End All-Around High-Points

Several year-end all-around awards are presented each year:

  • Markel Insurance All-Around  Youth
  • All-Around Youth 14-18 
  • All-Around Youth 13-&-Under
  • AQHA All-Around Amateur
  • AQHA All-Around Select Amateur
  • AQHA All-Around Junior Horse
  • AQHA All-Around Senior Horse
  • All-Around Leading Exhibitor
  • AQHA World Champion Racing American Quarter Horse

For eligibility in the year-end all-around high-point award, points must be earned the same Level and include halter or performance halter, plus at least two of the performance categories listed in Rule SHW803.5(c) of the AQHA Official Handbook of Rules and Regulations, with a minimum of five points earned in the lowest category.
