College can be some of the best years of your life, and not just because you’re young and suddenly solely in charge of your life for the first time. Your college years can be some of the best years of your life because college offers some of the greatest opportunities to discover the world and create yourself.
I grew up 30 miles away from where I attended college for my undergraduate degree. When I was in high school, I always knew that Iowa State University was the perfect fit for me because it had a great program for what I wanted to study, not to mention the in-state tuition! By my sophomore year of college, I began to realize that I had missed out on an opportunity to have a new experience by attending college farther from home.
