Hello, my name is Emily Schimnich. I am 18 years old and from Sauk Rapids, Minnesota. I have known about the Young Horse Development program for a couple of years, but I didn't know how much I really wanted to participate until I met Holly Kiess, from Indiana, at the 2015 AQHYA National Racing Experience in Texas. Holly told me all about the program and all the amazing experiences she had with her filly, Sugar. Holly encouraged me to apply for the program the following year, and I am sure glad I did!

Like Holly, I received a weanling from Open Box Rafter Ranch of Faith in South Dakota. I was awarded a 2016 palomino filly by PC Cisco Frost and out of Suzanna Joak. I decided to name my filly "Miss Lillian Frost" or "Lily" for short.

Lily is the sweetest, smartest, most outgoing little filly I've ever met. Our personalities blend together perfectly! This program has been an amazing learning experience and I am so excited for Lily and I to continue our future together in the Young Horse Development program and beyond!
